Rahab is an inspirational leader; a respected and credible voice in East Africa on agricultural insurance. As the Managing Director at ACRE Africa, the brand name for Agriculture and Climate Risk Enterprise (ACRE), Rahab heads a team of over 30 dynamic and diverse professionals all with one common goal: to provide innovative insurance solutions to farmers across Africa.
Under the 5-year UAP-Syngenta Foundation Kilimo Salama project, Rahab was involved in crop insurance product design & execution, market research, stakeholder management and key account management.
Therefore, in 2013, when the project transitioned to the for-profit company, ACRE Africa, Rahab’s role as the Managing Director was a natural fit. She takes the lead role in building strategic partnership with local regulators, insurers, clients, administrators and key influencers. Her passion is to reach African farmers with ACRE Africa’s insurance products and solutions in order to strengthen their resilience against unpredictable catastrophes.
Rahab’s core competencies are in:
- Project management
- Negotiation for underwriting and reinsurance of micro insurance products
- Identification and development of innovative and strategic point of sale
- Development of sales strategy in line with the business plan
- Insurance product design and piloting
- Regional marketing and identification of new potential markets.
