Rehan is an insurance professional by training currently working with MicroEnsure as Group Business Director with responsibility of company’s all operations across Africa and Asia. He joined MicroEnsure in 2013 when he pioneered company’s business launch in Pakistan including incorporation of a local entity and introduction of innovative and paperless processes based micro insurance products to local insurance industry. In his assignments as country manager Pakistan and later as head of business development Asia, Rehan worked on multiple initiatives which include no-questions-asked, simplest possible life and health insurances and their distribution to scores of middle and low income communities in partnership with leading telecommunication, financial and microfinance players.
In previous life, Rehan has been associated with AIG’s American Life, MetLife and ACR Group’s ACR ReTakaful and worked extensively on development of alternate distribution channels most importantly bancassurance and direct marketing and has hands on experience in designing non-conventional alternate distribution channels reaching out to huge un or under insured population groups in emerging markets. His other associations include working with State Life Insurance Corporation, the life insurance industry market leader in Pakistan where Rehan had started his career as management trainee and extensively worked in various operations functions.
In terms of academics, Rehan holds an MA in Economics from Karachi University and is Associate, the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK and Fellow, Life Office Management Association, US.
